Maybe they need to have HPDE lead instructors wear this shirt so they can say “don’t be this guy”...

I have a lot of instructor friends.

When I saw this shirt, I didn't think it was a student/instructor situation, but instead a skilled driver giving a ride to someone who hasn't been for a high speed ride and is freaking out.

Good point, I didn’t think of that. I was thinking of my sweet (and perpetually back seat driving) boyfriend.

I don’t see anything here other than “we’ve replaced his track instructor with a driver’s ed stereotype. Let’s see if he notices.” The idea of a nervy high school driver’s ed type in a fast car (the kind who freak out when their charges do 28 in a 25) and a role mismatch is, to me, actually pretty funny.

Then again, there may be track day instructors who are seen by their trusts as that nervy high school driver’s ed type, and maybe some actually are. I don’t know. Being nervy as an instructor is as much a detriment as somebody who won’t take instruction, and your article faults experience levels on both sides.

Well if he’s like that, all the more reason for him to disregard the weight of those Cragers, and put them on his Monte :)
